Black and white pen and ink animal illustration of a common chameleon.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and an Akashiya Sai ink brush pen for the darkest areas. I filled in all the details using stippling, building up tone with thousands of tiny dots.
Chameleons are a very distinctive species of lizard with the ability to change colour and pattern. The common chameleon, Mediterranean chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon) varies in color between yellow and brown to bright green. The bodies of these reptiles are covered in scales, they have a horn on the top of their head and have a prehensile tail.
